The Danica Dress is a versatile a-line/swing dress (slim or full skirt options) in sizes 6-12m to 14, with a variety of neckline options. Key hole (front or back), collar, neck tie, and basic.  There are several sleeve lengths as well – short, 3/4 length, and long sleeve, as well as sleeveless. Sleeves can be hemmed or banded. Pattern also includes optional side seam pockets.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The tie neck should ONLY be worn by young children while SUPERVISED. Please familiarize yourself with your local compliancy law and safety regulations before making and/or selling dresses made with the tie neck. Some regions have laws prohibiting clothing being made for children with ties of this length.

This garment is drafted for knit fabric with 50-70% stretch and good stretch recovery. The tutorial has detailed information on choosing your fabric.

This pattern comes with LAYERS, so you can print only the sizes you need. There are listings for both TRIMLESS and TRIM versions. In case you are unfamiliar with the two methods, here are a few things to consider when choosing between them:

Trim Assembly – While this method is a bit more time consuming, it reduces risk of error, and offers one other huge benefit:  If you think you will be using the pattern for multiple sizes, a trimmed pattern is much easier to fold along the tape lines and store. So if you put it together once and leave it intact, and use tracing paper to trace off each size, then you only have to tape it together once.  This is a big time saver when you want to make it again later in other sizes.

Trimless Assembly – guidelines are provided for US letter size AND A4 paper size, to overlap and tape it together without trimming. This is a much faster method, HOWEVER, tiny variances in paper size and the way your printer pulls the paper through (which can sometimes be slightly off) can lead to inaccuracy. I recommend putting the pieces together on a window, so you can see through the paper and line everything up exactly.
